| Class Action Defense Case Study: Gayle Queen and Donald J. Freeman, individually and on behalf of others similarly situated v. Constellation Power Source Generation, Inc. A group of Gambrills residents banned together to fight the power giant, Constellation Energy, for polluting their air and drinking water with chemicals such as lead, arsenic and beryllium known to cause cancer and other serious health problems. Murphy PA filed the class action against Constellation Power Source Generation, Inc. in November 2007 stating that they knowingly dumped fly ash, a by-product of coal burning in power plants, into craters in a sand and gravel mine which led to the poisoned groundwater and air quality threatening the health and safety of the residents of Gambrills. |

The settlement affects residents from Summerfield, Queen Mitchell and Evergreen roads and the Chapel Gate Condominiums. |
